Mark brings more than 30 years of experience in ASC strategy, operations, and network development, with a career focused on building scalable platforms that support strong, sustainable partnerships with health systems and physicians.

Before being named CEO, Mark served as Compass’ Chief Development Officer, where he led the company’s efforts to launch and expand surgery center networks aligned with partner strategy and local service area needs. His work has centered on disciplined growth, operational readiness, and creating the infrastructure required to support long-term excellence across a growing portfolio of ASCs.

Prior to joining Compass, Mark spent 19 years at SCA Health, including six years as Chief Development Officer. In that role, he led ASC growth initiatives across the country and oversaw mergers and acquisitions from sourcing through integration, working closely with operational and clinical teams to ensure sustainable results.

As CEO, Mark is focused on strengthening Compass’ platform by investing in teams, systems, and real-time data that empower ASC leaders to operate efficiently, forecast performance, and maintain the highest standards of clinical quality. His leadership philosophy is grounded in the belief that corporate scale should exist to support care delivery at the local level — enabling physicians to focus on patients and outcomes.

Mark is a graduate of the University of Tennessee at Knoxville and the proud father of three adult children. Outside of work, he enjoys staying active, including hiking with his Rat Terrier, Apache.
